Mask it out with a transmap. Black what you want invisible, white what you want visible. Hook it up to the transparency setting in the mat room and set the value to 1.0. You can also do shades of grey for areas you want to appear see-through and not completely transparent.

Thank you so much. My sanity has been saved for the day! I made the mistake of also hooking the map to the trans edge and the whole thing vanished. You put me on the right track, but I'll admit I had to load the dress and a texture and see how it was laid out. I was messing around with a different clothing item the dress came to mind when I posted my question. Thanks again!

Ok, I am admitting defeat, to what is most likely a very easy fix. I want to take an clothing item and create a texture for it but elmininating certain sections, say the morphing fantasy dress. I can't for the life of me figure out how to make what I'm removing invisible so it doesn't show up as a white blob in Poser.
