There's also a ton of new elf races.  For replacement/ehancement most folks use Ethereal Elven Overhaul.

I haven't found a really good replacement for Argonians.  It seems that many like them the way they are or want to turn them into Draconians.  I think it would be cool if they looked like "Grel" from "The Last Starfighter" or the aliens in "Enemy Mine".  I haven't had the where-with-all to attempt it.

IMO, the Nords and the Redguard are the best looking human races, though you can make interesting humans from all of them.  Did you know that they were supposed to release a Redguard expansion but stopped to work on "the next game", whatever that is.  It would have been cool to have an Arabian style environment to play in.

 Gorgeous!!!

Here's one I did heavily mod from the Wood Elf base.  Custom follower, custom eyes, dialog, face resculpting.  The ranger type I was talking about that can summon animals.

Face was re-sculpted in Poser using the morph brush.  I could have gone with other tools but the heads are fairly low poly.

Found a fun looking mod the other day called 28 days n a bit.  Its a zombie apocalypse mod for skyrim. Looks like tons of fun. Have a city base I have been working on for the last year or so that would be good for a home base to make a stand in.

Lakeview freehold originally built by someone, never finished. (abandoned) So I have been reworking it and nav meshing the whole thing almost done with that. Just needs a few barracks added and its ready.

Gonna be some epic play, hordes of zombies. Zombie armies, wall defense the whole thing. I'll be using another mod , mixed unit tactics, for troops and squad movements in battle.

Sounds Fun!

Still only with the Xbox version so no mods. Will have to get Windows for my next gen Mac so I can install the PC version-and Mods! I hope there is a way to get the meshes into Zbrush-and back to Skyrim...

Now that I am playing again-I remember enjoying the sympathetic Vampiress Serana as a favorite follower. So I made a new Nord character that resembles her as my character. Using the included face tools. I suppose I could just try taking a digital photo to post...not a close likeness but very loosely based on her character.

Eric, mesh is not a problem to export using various tools like nifscope and others. There are some plugins for Blender. Many good tutorials out for this on you tube. As long as you are not changing the skeleton you should not have a problem. Also open edges which have to line up n so on.

You can make custom armor n clothing. You can change the weight mapping in max or blender without too much hassle. Custom skeletons, behavior files and animations are a bear because of hard coded limitations. I had hoped to use Poser, but it has become apparent that it is monumentally to difficult to get Poser joints n weight maps into Max or Blender. The main problem as I understand it is we dont have python access to the inner working of Poser joints.

For a Serana look alike, in the CK under template data you can check use traits for serana and that will give you the body n face of serana. You can change it to taste from there. You have to load Dawngaurd along with Skyrim esm. This is for PC versions. Would love to see your custom face though, alot more fun to do it from scratch that way. If you get the PC version you will have to make sure you slect your custom actor in the CK and Ctrl+F4 and save the face gen data so you dont get a grey face.

Cheers

Mike.

Later versions of Blender do successfully import Poser Collada exports, which might offer a way to port joints.  Blender used to have fairly decent weight transfer scripts, which would allow the skeleton from a Poser .dae export to be transferred to another model.  I haven't tested Blender's rigging tools in post-2.5 versions, so I don't know the state of its present tools, but one would hope they still have the same range of capabilities as before.

All the problems I've noted above pertain to trying to create any kind of custom exporter for Poser.  I worked on the problem in a Poser Python script recently, and the only working approach I found for exporting joints from Poser was to pull the weight mapping from a Poser .dae export.  Poser Python itself doesn't give us the necessary tools at this time, but Poser's export capabilities can help the process along a bit.  (Note that the Collada export joints will be the "single skin" joints for the exported figure, and these may not be as effective as one might hope.  When I dealt with the problem, I found the single skin weights to be highly flawed.  Weight map editing for single skin weights also seems to be broken, as of the most current PPro14 SR, which doesn't help matters.  Pro 2012 or Pro '14 with a different SR may offer better results.)

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking.  He apologizes for this.  He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.

Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below.  His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.

Thanks Mike!

If you look at my Gallery you'll see some examples of my fun with the stock Dawn character... :-)
