Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 26 2:05 pm)
I'm not sure about queue, I don't use it, but those render settings posted by aeon-soul only go to Poser Pro 2010, not Poser Pro 2014. You should be using GC turn on for your renders (I hate GC, but its the only way to get a good render out of the more recent versions of Poser). Maybe someone who uses queue will have a better explanation for you of your problem.

Thanks for the response. If anyone can point me to some good settings for 2014 I'd appreciate it. Haven't had any luck with searches.
Hi there You can try those settings, which I'm mostly using
Just I would suggest raise Irrandiance Cache from 25.0 to 40.0
How many lights are you using ? Are you using IBL light ? And are you using bagginsbill EnvSphere ?
Thanks,Jura
Lucas, do you have SR 5.1 installed? The build number will be 10.0.5.28445 for this version. The original Poser Pro 2014 release build did weird things with the gamma when you re-opened a scene, and sending a render to queue means that the remote machine re-opens the scene.
Poser 12, in feet.

I didn't have the problem with SR3, so I think it's SR4 that auto adjusts gamma on image maps (which it does also whenever you duplicate a scene asset or change the materials on a duplicated asset -- it changes the gamma on every instance of that asset). I forgot about the change on scene open and just yesterday had to redo a 9 hour long render (with atmosphere, lots of vegetation transparencies, and IDL). Silly me! I'm glad to know that SR5.1 addresses this issue -- but I'm waiting until it too has been out in general release for a while, just in case it introduces other, more annoying bugs than the GC one.)

I'm using the Aeon Soul settings here: http://aeon--soul.deviantart.com/art/Poser-rendering-settings-271955309 with Poser 2014. For some reason, when I send a render to the queue, right before it asks me the save name, the light amps up very bright. I have gamma correction turned off and tried turning of indirect lighting. Any ideas why?
