Subject: Scaling in PoserPro 2012 vs PoserPro 2014

nabob21 ( ) posted Mon, 29 December 2014 at 5:11 PM · edited Wed, 15 January 2025 at 12:13 PM

Hello,

I have recently started using PoserPro 2014 after using PoserPro 2012 for a few years and I am noticing some issues when I use the include scaling when conforming option in the parameters window. This option worked quite well for me in PoserPro 2012 but it doesn`t want to work very reliably for me in PoserPro 2014. Has anyone else encountered this issue and is there a fix for this?

Thanks for any replies.

Have you installed the latest SR 5.1?

Hi hborre,

Yes I have the latest service releases installed.

The V4WM figure I use is scaled to a implied height of 5 foot as opposed to the standard V4, for this reason I use the scaling when conforming option a great deal and I have not noticed an issue.  I am using the Game Dev version but used 2014 a lot before that and still no issue.  There is, on occasions, some poke through but no more that a non scaled conform on a non scaled figure.

What issues are you having and is it with certain items?

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

Hello hornet3d,

I am using a V4 in the same manner as you. The scaling issue is not just related to one clothing item. I have used those items and successfully scaled them in PoserPro 2012 but having issues in PoserPro 2014. If I successfully scale clothing to a V4 in PoserPro 2012, save the figure and clothing in PoserPro 2012 and then open the figure in PoserPro 2014 the scaling is broken. If I open the figure in again in PoserPro 2012 then the scaling works. If I try to do the scaling just in PoserPro 2014 it doesn't work reliably at all (i.e. sometimes it does but mostly it doesn't). I have tried this with a several clothing items from different vendors all of which work in PoserPro 2012. I can make things work by manually scaling in PoserPro 2014 using the scale dials but any of my saved figures that worked before have to be redone and scaled again.
