I obtained this from the 3dwarehouse sketch up site it's the tng  transporter I redressed to  update it still needs a few more props the glass panels that sit between the buffer scanners, the yellow transporter buffer scanners were covered up by blue buffer scanners to update the transporter, the model had no texturing for the displays so I added displays to the back wall and the transporter control console, the transporter ceiling over the pad was also replaced with an updated mesh that is textured to update that as well, I added a new mesh for the transporter room doors and textured that with a photo to ground the room in realism.

the mesh was recolored with darker colors and textures to obtain a more realistic effect.

not sure who made the original mesh but I will look this person up to try and credit him when I check back in again.

Aryh Peixoto Filho is the creator of this mesh, the mesh looks like this in it's original state and can be obtained at this page

what is the formula for making a surface is poser mirror reflective I think adding reflection to the black surface will finish the look

I've never understood why the transporter transports only from/to this platform.

They grab people off of ships or planets no matter where they are. They put people on ships or planets wherever they would like.

What about the tech demands that they cannot get people from anywhere and send them to anywhere?

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

I think it works by quantum entanglement in some sort of way by converting the energy state of matter into a wave and back into a partial form while passing the energy packets through sub space a dimension of space outside the normal space time, all mater exists as a undefined wave form until it is observed where it then seems to make a conscious decision to act as a partial in quantum physics this is called the double slit experiment which suggest that a partial can be in two places at once and change its energy state behavior to behave as a wave or a partical and that it can be both a partical and a wave at thev same time producing  results in an experiment that the partical has transmitted information at an impossible speed at great distance through a method called quantum entanglement that science is only beginning to understand

The problem with this is that being destroyed and recreated only creates a copy of you.

Oh sure it's you, and would not know it's a reproduction, would know everything you do and feel just the way you do, but it would have it's own consciousness a copy of it.

To ovoid this this mess.

The process has to work sub-dimensionally where your not really being destroyed or torn apart that you are only changing energy states and quantum positioning, So what happens is you're not really torn apart, or destroyed, you change energy states and that energy is repositioned and the energy state reverses to normal when you arrive, it only appears like you were dematerialized because you are in another energy state that is being repositioned dimensionally so to the observer you appeared to have been broken down and put back together when you were simply transformed to a different energy state that allows the reposition, I think this is how it works and seems to be the only way it could without creating duplicates,

the process works by changing the energy state of matter and transferring it through subspace a sub-dimension so it's kind of a dimensional travel device, I agree that you probably need one at both ends for it to work, but then again if the control is in the beaming process the beam frequency then it may be possible that only one end requires it, also depends on how long something can remain in subspace maybe only a very short time in a realistic sense maybe less then a second if it's anything like creating a micro black hole.

ive often thought about this and there is no definative way you would be able to prove that your consciousness would be transferred and you would still be "You" or a copy with a consciousness created at the moment of transportation? im assuming that transportation would transfer all relevant information of matter at transport time so there would be no difference between YOU or a copy lol Philosophy time!!

A cleaved head no longer plots.
