That is caused by overexposing the image, you need to adjust the exposure and it will look great. There could be too much specular reflection in the skin, hard to say without knowing how you set the materials in Reality.

Wow, then you have quite a bit of material to cover :)
Exposure is a photographic concept, your best source is to look at an introductory photography book. In the short term, you can make sure that the Tonemapper in Lux is set to Linear and then click on the Estimate button, which acts as a Point-and-shoot camera, by calculating the exposure automatically.
Like any automatic cameras, that doesn't work in all situations but it will give you a starting pooint. For anything else you will need to look at the Reality User's Guide, which has a chapter on how to adjust the exposure, with examples.
The rest is experience. You have a lot of ground to cover, in terms of 3D concepts and terms but that is the fun of it, there is so much to discover.
Good luck.

Reality comes with an excellent user guide (*unlike IRay) that explains pretty much everything about Reality itself. The LuxRender wiki ( http://www.luxrender.net/wiki/Main_Page ) is also worth reading. You may need to learn basic photographic concepts such as exposure, aperture, ISO and others since Reality/Luxrender uses them. Google is your friend.
*couldn't resist the little dig.

Hi All--I sure hope someone can help me. I'm using Reality 4 with the new Daz Studio 4.8. I am also trying to use V7 with the basic textures (no iRay or SSS at this point). I've tried the mesh lights and the IBL lights. The background props look great (a wall from DM) but V7 stays white. Her textures are really washed white. This is the first time I've tried Reality and I've looked at videos on the subject, but I cannot figure out why my dolly doesn't have any color when she renders in Lux 1.5. I need help! Thanks in advance, Denise (I've attached an image)
