I apologize if you did not find the message useful. Inky Deals is a reputable organization that graciously provided several great prizes for our current Holiday Creative Contest. In our discussion with them, they offered us the opportunity to provide our membership with some special offers on design content and tools that are highly relevant to the Renderosity Community. We're not in the business to spam and abuse email addresses.
I will take your comments to heart when it comes to enlightening our community of similar offers.
All the best, Tim
Sorry Tim, this is relevant in the same way as an email selling bikes is relevant because we all have legs. I don't see any forum for Graphic designers here? Which would clearly be the market for this advertising.
So just to be clear you are saying, this is in no way third party paid advertising taking advantage of the Renderosity mailing list?
The point is how can we choose not to receive special offers or deals from companies external to the Renderosity Marketplace no matter how relevant you feel they may be while continuing to receive information and promotional material that directly relates to this site?
Because if it's all or none, this email is pushing me that bit closer to making it none.
It is not our policy to 'sell' our mailing list to those that are interested in marketing to our community.
In effort to address you concern about paid advertising, the answer is no. Although you mentioned the point of your post was the option of newsletter subscriptions, I couldn't help but address you initial comment.
I like the option of what newsletters you'd like to subscribe to. It's something that I'd like to see as well.
As far as the content of the message, and its perceived relevance, thats something that I suppose is in the eye of the recipient.
I appreciate your comments and find these discussions meaningful so as to continue to serve our community in a productive fashion.
All the best to you# Tim
Just to clarify, I didn't suggest that renderosity sold its mailing list to 3rd parties.
I suggested you may have received payment to facilitate a 3rd party advertisement using the Renderosity mailing list and marketing channels. There is a clear difference. As it's clear this email was generated from Renderosity Business Newsletter newsletter@postoffice2.renderosity.com
If you did intend to pursue an option of actual relevance for your 3rd party marketing er.. announcements, you could easily use the Portfolio Software & interests selections as the filter. Of course the very implementation would lower the circulation and may lessen the appeal to 3rd party marketers, but it would be putting the community first.
Personally the big worry with this type of trend is that if Renderosity is receiving any kind of compense for the emails. 1 email of this type quarterly, may in time become 1 monthly, eventually 1 weekly, 1 Daily.

Not cool rendo....
Seriously thinking about unsubscribing from any Renderosity emails at this point, as this is the second time I have received unrelated unsolicited spam from you.. If you want to send me spam allow me to opt in or at least ask me.
