OK. as I am abit behind. I am still using ds4.8. I was told in order to use 4.9 you have to allow them access to your puter. so usng it on an offline machine was a no go. that they can down load stuff from your machine etc, That in order to install it, you -have- to be online on the machine, that then you have to re-install all the daz stuff you ever purchased etc.

if you deny the program access or are on an offline machine. you wont be able to use content or install new content unless you use their install manager....because of a sep file?

can someone, in very simple terms, explain if this is accurate and any work around as I was thinking of installing it on my new system which will be an offline machine only

No. 4.9 still allows offline use, and you can still install content manually.

but I have read you have to allow it access to the net and reinstall all your previous content. some say once some say permanently. do they download your scenes from your puter? I thought you had to use their cloud service. I thought you also had to reinstall all the content again using their cloud service for the stuff to work?

You're speaking of DAZ Connect which you don't have to use. Just select offline in dialog box and you can work as usual.

so I wont have to dl all my content again? I can just slip over my folder from my old puter to the new one and the new install?

No, you don't have to re-download or reinstall anything, You can just copy your folders over and everything will work the way it's supposed to.
