Subject: Soft Body Cloth ability

pappy411 ( ) posted Sat, 17 June 2017 at 1:28 PM · edited Wed, 11 December 2024 at 5:16 AM

Anyone know if Daz Studio has become user friendly for soft body dynamic cloth other than is sold by Daz? I know they had their own proprietary cloth system that was useless for modeled dynamic cloth unless it was sold by Daz.

I do my own dynamic cloth modeling and unless I can use my own creations, in DS, DS is useless for me. Would like to hear the cloth function has been improved and user friendly from those who know, or will be.

Thanks for any info, Pappy

The Optitex system has not changed. You can use external draping tools (VWD via the bridge, or the likes of Blender or Marvellous Designer via OBJ export/import).

Hi Spend $8 USD on this RMP product

https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/dyncreator-for-dazstudio/113516</https:>

It will enable you to use ANY mesh as a Dynamic cloth in Daz studio even WITHOUT buying the Daz Dynamic cloth control plugin. I also model my own dynamic clothing

I simulated this in DS before I bought the DAZ DCC

I don't think DAZ will ever be user friendly for soft body or dynamic clothing, it seems it's not that intention, they're more focused on still renders.

My video here; https://youtu.be/YFLucLdA2DQ even tho I used G2F, but the dynamic clothing and soft body physics were done in Poser.
