ISTR a well known guitarist had a replica of that thing built. Not sure if it was James Taylor, given his love of unusual instruments in general and odd guitars in particular.

Mask is now working on a vintage Gibson acoustic, the L-00. Looks like the model is finished and textures are being made. Usual place, if you want to take a look.
