Same issue here. I've raised the issue with PayPal, with any luck Rendo will respond. Order #113144461
I've checked my PayPal account, and there's nothing about a hold on the payment. I've filed a ticket with PayPal in the meantime. And it looks like it's not an isolated case, going by some other forum posts. Previous purchases I've made via PayPal have been almost instant, so it doesn't seem to have much to do with time zones.
I certainly didn't put it on hold voluntarily, and the hold isn't showing up at my end. Maybe PayPal or my credit card issuer is putting all the transactions through a clearing house? BTW I value my privacy, so would it be possible to re-edit the image with my name blanked/mosaic-ed out? Thanks.
I've been into the Activity tab and all payments are marked as "completed". Still no hold status anywhere. So PayPal or my credit card issuer could be the logjam.
I've checked with the credit card issuer linked to my PayPal account, and payment's already gone through. And I'll say it again: there's no way to change the hold status at all on the PayPal transaction involved (#1TW48870HL776371G), if any. And I'm starting to wonder if there's a bug somewhere. I've since made a separate purchase and that went through as normal, and if worst comes to worst maybe the payment should be refunded so I can redo the transaction. Here's a screenshot of my Activity screen attached.
I've contacted PayPal and the ticket I've filed with them is awaiting Rendo's response. Can this be resolved before the order involved expires, since it was made during a 50% off special?
Hello.
There is nothing we can do on this end, except to wait for the HOLD to be removed. Generally you, the buyer, can contact PayPal and have that HOLD removed. The only option I have on the store's end is to refund the payment to "resolve" the dispute. but you state you want to keep the order. Doing a refund would cancel the order. Please try calling them to figure this out. At this point there is nothing we can do on this one. I will hold it until we hear from you.
I've contacted PayPal again, and I've managed to convince them to release the hold, after some initial confusion. With any luck the payment won't go to no man's land, since if it does, the ticket can't be reopened. I wonder if PayPal's redesigned UI has had a few oversights.
I was able to mark the order paid for you. I am sorry for all the trouble. If there was a way I could have fixed it I certainly would have. We've had a couple issues with either slow payment notifications and then this issue this weekend. I hope whatever is going on straightens up very soon! Enjoy your purchases.
Just as an FYI, most of the time when you make a payment via paypal and the store you buy from (any store, not just Rendo) doesn't get marked as paid it's generally an issue on Paypal's side not sending the verification back to the site. That can happen if they are running maintenance, tweaking something or even if they have a large volume of users bogging down the system. That's why there are often a group of people with the issue at the same time.
When you raised an issue with Paypal over the payment not being marked paid, they automatically put a hold on the payments and create a dispute ticket. Your screenshot shows that a dispute ticket was opened, that's why the funds were put on hold.
Sometimes it can be the store, if they are upgrading store software or running maintenance but it seems far more rare.
Generally just contact the store in question, because if you contact Paypal they will hold the funds as a dispute.

Looking at the forum, it would seem there is a lot of this going on in the past day - not helped by Renderosity seemingly burying its head in the sand and hoping the problem will go away! A bit of reassuriance with online purchases and problems goes a long way - guess they do not need my business any more!!!
