Subject: sharper edge blend?

hello, is there a math function i can plug the attenuation into on Edge Blend in order to make the blend less diffuse? so there is a sharper divide between "outer" and "inner"? increasing attenuation value makes it sharper by shrinking the total inner area, i want to leave the overall balance between outer and inner the same but reduce the size of the area where they blend together.

Fresnel blend might be better suited to what you are trying to do.

You're wanting a steeper falloff for the edge_blend? Is this the effect you want? (Ignore the inner sphere, which is a separate prop):

This would do it; the power function (set to 5th power, in this case) will exaggerate the falloff; increasing the exponent will sharpen the falloff. Since it also greatly diminishes the entire range of values, I also multiply it to make it visible again. The two nodes below the color map are just a "tattletale" to let me know if I've exceeded 1 in value.
