here is my competition entry. i took all these pictures just the other day on a job inspection in the City of Santa Monica, CA.

Realy nice original pictures, and great use of those layers! That bottom right one is brilliant the way it goes over one petal and under the next - emphasises the depth nicely.

thanks for all your wonderful comments. i was actually inspecting several sites around Santa Monica that i did the civil engineering on and had initiated underground stormwater storage systems. i was taking the pictures of the sites for a proposal to show that the systems have been functioning without incident for almost a decade, and the flowers happen to blooming are near and on some of the sites.
