Subject: Rendered VS Unrendered Character Poser 9

romangirl ( ) posted Sat, 24 October 2020 at 3:43 PM · edited Sun, 22 December 2024 at 4:04 PM

I hope I didn't ask this years ago! Here is my version of "Ava." She is perfect for me, if I do a Preview Render only.

But if I do a real render (even the very minimum render), she looks different and not what I like..

Any way I can get the real render to look more like he Preview version? Thanks!

Thanks!

lighting and render settings need help. Is this rendered in Firefly or Superfly?

Ok I just saw the Poser 9 in the title. Still a lighting, render settings and possibly issues with texture shaders.

try these settings for your FF render and post up your result. Then we can fix whatever else is wrong with it after that. Before I have to get into a pissing contest with another user about my settings: I used these for years. These settings are optimized to get really great results in FF and still be reasonably fast. That character reminds me of SAV's Sonia. Here is a render of her. Sonia.jpg

OK. So I'm guessing you are using the maps and shaders that came with Sonia. I'll take a look at that.

Very nice! It took a long time, doing what appeared to be two renders! The hair is jet black from my preview render. I blacked it. I'll have to fix it. Thanks!

StudioArtVardanian is missed!

OK. I loaded the default textures for Sonia and used a dome for lighting. These are no Poser lights in this render. Is this more what you wanted? The shaders are not something I would have used back in my FF days. I always used EZSkin II to fix the shaders and then saved those as presets in my runtime. Sonia Firefly.jpg

This thread reminded me I used to have a V3 character called Ava, inspired by the same person as you I'm sure :) She had a friend called Grace. They were both dial spinning creations. I seem to remeber Ava having very distinct cheek bones.

Both renders are Firefly. For some reason I could never get V3 skins to render well in Superfly :(

@ypvs those probably just need some tweeks to the texture maps in Photoshop and some decent SSS shaders. Here is V3 in Superfly Spring Portrait small.jpg

I still like twisting V3 dials. One of my favorite morphed characters is Adele, shown here with her sister Ivy.
