Daz studio 4.12.1 starts ok but when you try to add anything , it starts to locate the item them just stands there. Nothing frozen.I don't want to try and reinstall the stupid thing. Any help will be approached with kindness and grace. ?

Even just a new primitive (Create>New Primitive)? What is the Viewport Drawstyle (the sphere icon to the left of the button for picking the current view/camera)?

RHaseltine; When you do as you said you get a blank screen. grayed out with the move icon only The main problem is when you try to add a figure it looks for it then freezes also.

What is your nVidia driver version, assuming you are using an nVidia GPU?

That should be new enough to support Iray. Please post screen shots of the scene and of what happens when you render.

there is no scene or render. the studio freezes up as it looks for anything such as a figure. The real problem is that when you try to add a figure such as GF8 studio starts to look for the info then stop looking freezes the meter thing that shows progress stops moving period , all day if it could. RHaseltine please tell me how to get a screenshot I've never had luck doing that. :)

Which DrawStyle is the Viewport using?

In Windows 10 you can use Snip and Sketch for screen shots, Windows 7 has the Snipping Tool.

Hey RHaseltine; I ended up taking the studio out completely, minus the content. now it starts slow but works kinda. Thank You for all your help.
