Subject: V4 Morphing Cowl

I suck at the morphs thing. Anything that has to do with morphs I don't have a clue. Here we have V4 with a character morph applied to her face and the morphing cowl conformed. The face morph pops through the cowl. I tried FIGURE>COPY MORPHS FROM... but that did not seem to copy the character's custom morph that I had checked off in the list. How do I get a custom face morph to get applied to the cowl. Also: I tried with the morph brush and that was a nightmare. Morphing cowel.jpg

Did you apply the magnets to it?

ghostship2 ( ) posted Mon, 14 December 2020 at 3:53 PM

No I did not. Now that is another thing. When exactly am I supposed to use them? There are times where I load a clothing item and there is pokethrough and I apply the magnets and they do nothing. Other times they work.

I believe that the workflow for the magnets is as follows; Load V4, load and conform the clothing, pose the figure then apply the magnets. It might work better to pose the figure first then load and conform the clothing. Typically, your morphs are the first things you apply and then follow through with everything else. Most times, I don't use the magnets if clothing conforms perfectly.

For me, "copy morphs from" works very well with the cowl.

It puts a dial in the head of the cowl that you have to set to 1. Once you do that, the cowl fits.

what about custom character morphs? The one I'm using is from Sabby.

For some reason, sometimes the dial doesn't show when you copy it over, but it still exists. (I'm sure someone more familiar with the technical side of Poser could explain why this is.)

One thing you can try: after copying the head morph to the cowl, go into the Properties of the cowl (in Parameter Dials), and tick "include morphs."

I find that most of the morphs I copy end up in the body actor. If you can't find them in the head, they are probably there.

try the morph brush tool.there are tools to pull and tighten the cowl and make sure to set the goal to v4.you will need to dial down the brush strength.

If the custom morph on the head actor of V4 doesn't have any valueOperations (ERC) to control it from the Body, when it copies to the cowl figure, there may not be any valueOperations driving the copied morph.

Do you have Include morphs when conforming checked on the cowl? If not, you could add a valueOperation to it to follow the morph value on V4's head
