Subject: Objects disappearing in IRay (tech problem)

tarqued ( ) posted Thu, 22 April 2021 at 10:01 AM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 6:03 PM

I am working on a space ship scene in Daz 3D. The space ship and the planet are 3D objects. The environment map is a starscape background. When I preview in cartoon shaded or texture shaded, I see exactly what I want. When I preview in Iray, the ship and the planet disappear. I can still see the starscape but the objects are gone. I tried switching the environment map to "none" - then I get a blank white field in Iray.

Never run in to this before. Any ideas/suggestions?

It should show up when you do a full render. Iray Preview doesn't always show ev maps

Doh! Figured it out... trying to get an angle from below and I forgot to turn off "draw ground". Basically placing the camera underground ;-)

Ah, I have done that several times myself.
