Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 29 11:54 am)
Some poses are well-done, and others need a tweak or two. I've had this set for quite a long time along with the M3 set. You can't go wrong with it.Ok, cool. I will go get it. I am assuming the poses were made with default Vicki and therefore if I morph her I will have to adjust the poses...

Never a problem. I don't have the notion that this is MINE. It's the internet. I believe in freedom of expression, and as long as we keep it within the TOS, post anything you like. Lord knows I do. My muse and my interests change daily sometimes. I tend to ramble down the road looking at another project when I get stuck on the one I am on. The whole Supergirl vs Kara thing started as a request on DA. I was working on that video at the time, and when I got to a point where I didn't know where I was going to go with the theme and the action in the scene, I would go work on Supergirl's suit. You posting your work on her also challenged me to get better, so it's a win-win for me.rokket posted at 10:13 PM Sat, 10 September 2022 - #4444282
Hey thanks for those settings Rokket. I'll give them a spin, you'd be surprised how difficult it is to find dynamic settings. I also appreciate you hosting my rather strange posts here in your thread, without batting an eye no less. The only way this can stay interesting for me and keep me engaged is if I create these little scenarios to amuse myself... Plus it drives me to explore different content and methods.primorge posted at 7:25 PM Sat, 10 September 2022 - #4444271
I have this:Do you know a good dynamics setting for satin or silk?
👍

Totally awesome. I can see I'll be using this a lot moving forward... in particular for the grab fall off. Now if Blender would only get better painting tools.

hborre posted at 10:35 PM Sat, 10 September 2022 - #4444284I haven't tested them yet. I just grabbed them. I'd assume yes, poses are pretty interchangeable between figures unless they have completely different hierarchies. Usually it's the hands and feet that need the most adjustments, I wonder if that would even be an issue in this instance. You might have to make small adjustments just because of the form differences. Some poses are well-done, and others need a tweak or two. I've had this set for quite a long time along with the M3 set. I stopped working on the skirt for a bit because I was jumping the gun somewhat there. I need to make the new shape JCMs for the figure before I commit too much time to the clothing otherwise there will be more after the fact fixes needed. I'm doing the thigh JCMs in Sasha now, also with valueOp JCM OFF switches... I wasn't happy at all with what the weight bends alone are doing in that area, especially with the custom shape. I'll post some images and thoughts about it later if you're interested.
She looks a bit like a girl I used to be infatuated with in art school. K(****), a nympho basically, she gave me the heart flutters. Mexican from Austin, well bred and well to do. Spitting image of an Aztec goddess. The smell of sandalwood. A real seductress with a ringing mischevious girl child laugh. Talented. Cruel. Knee high laced black Doc Marten's. Or heels. Lithe in her incensed room with the morning light, naturally oily like a sleek creature. Floating across the studio at midnight to my work area like a entrancing wraith but scary in a different way. She used to get me drunk on wine, and her. Ah well...
Nice character :D
I think I finally found the right character for my Supergirl. Now I have to model a suit for her, since the one I made earlier is for a totally different body type. May I can use her as the Good Supergirl/Kara Danvers and use the other one as my evil Supergirl...

I think I am going to render a side by side of them and see what I think. I will have to use a different hair for one of them. Right now I am using that neftis hair that I won in that contest a few years ago, and I will have to change one of them.

Content Advisory! This message contains nudity
I found out that I can get the costume to fit either body with some minor adjustments, so I don't have to create a whole new suit.
But here is a nude side by side comparison of them. Tell me which one you would use:

V4, both of them. And I have several morph packages in them both: Aiko 4, Stephanie 4, Base, Morphs++, SheFreak, Elite. I also have a bunch of Syltermermaid's morphs and really good MATS for them.
I used some of the SheFreak morphs on the one on the left. But the one on the right is about 90% Elite. The face is a mixture of Elite, SheFreak and Morphs++

I am going to try to mess with the one on the right tomorrow. Right now I am doing another animation and I want to finish it before I got to bed in an hour. 4AM comes early. I start my week at Tesla tomorrow. I take my laptop to work, but the WIFI there is shady and I am busy most of the 12 hour shift I am there. But I do manage to get some things done.

I threw that Logan's Run "dress" on her to see if it will have issues with a morphed body. Other than having to update the metal texture on the belt, it works just fine. 5 drape frames did the trick. I am going to make a new suit for Supergirl. I don't want to try to mess with trying to refit the one I have.

She's looking good Rokket.
Maybe you've been wondering what I've been doing. Nothing really to show yet, still in the morphing/controller/JCMs/Rigging Genesis stuff trenches. Just a technical update.
I'm almost finished SG(W)'s new JCMs. I ended up reworking her entire rotations basically. To say she bends better than the default Sasha is an understatement. But I'll have a comparison images demo at a later date when I reach the time to render stage.
Here's the parms; JCMs, controllers and value Op stuff... I'm close to finished the JCMs themselves and then it's on to more controllers and shaping stuff. I've also started fitting, converting, and rigging some more Genesis stuff, and old V4 things I have, that I purchased for her. But more on that later. Oh yeah, also made a conforming/crosstalking fiber mesh pubic hair for her ;)
Incomplete listing shown in above parms but it gives an idea. All custom. Each with an OFF and a global OFF for the JCMs.
An example value operation JCM, SG(W) has quite a few. What it is a morph that kicks in over top two other JCMs (a difference) that are active and triggered by 2 simultaneous rotations... it's an add and multiply value op, the subtract is the off switch.
Anyway. Maybe a bit puzzling, and I'm sure someone might say "how are you going to transfer this to the clothes?"...but it'll make more sense in a couple weeks when I return with a longer illustrated post of both a technical and narrative art nature.
See you then. Lurking otherwise.
Very nice work. And now you have me curious about the pubic hair prop. All of the textures I have for V4 or Sasha have the pubes baked in and they don't look all that great, especially in Superfly because of the lack of micro displacement.
I thought about making a hair prop for her at one time, but it would have to be in the hair room, and I don't have a lot of luck with making it look right in there.
There are A LOT of JCM's there, but you created them and know how to use them. I would be lost.

I didn't let it finish, but I got impatient. I didn't want to use Poser lights, but I ended up having to because the image was too grainy There are still some artifacts on her arm, but overall it's not too bad. I think the artifacts would still be there even if I let the render run the full course.

I replaced Sasha's eyes with La Femme's. I think V4's greatest weakness is her eyes, because the iris is unwelded from the sclera. It makes painting eye textures difficult with the blend between the iris and the sclera so you always end up with that hard line and have to use a transmap in a hack to soften it out. Plus many of the V4 eye textures have baked in specular highlights. By using LF's eyes I can take advantage of the textures I painted for her (a bunch) and also the catalogue of LF eye maps I have which are painted with more modern render techniques in mind. Not to mention the morphs I already have for them. They're shown here, preview, in their default state without morphs (I generally like to use an iris convexity morph to flatten out the iris a bit and make it less concave)... they're just props fit very carefully, matched to the exact scale and position in blender to V4's eye geometries, and parented to the eye actors so they behave just as V4's eyes would. V4's eyes were really bothering me so this seemed like the most productive solution.
I also painted some nipple/breast skin detail displacement maps in mudbox last night, but more on that when I do some more "real" renders.
I'm also hoping that A4 isn't hinting for me to hit the road in that above render lol. Although I'd have to say, with that lovely lake view and wilderness it would be a pleasant walk ;)
I am a bit curious why you didn't just fix the specular blow out before you did a final render though. The render obviously took some time. You didn't notice it? Is it just a test? Theres a few things I would suggest in terms of non lighting things but if it's just a throw away image or test aimed at a more considered render down the road I'll keep it to myself.

No, the whole purpose of this thread was because I STRUGGLE with lighting. So if you have suggestions, tips, critiques... by all means, post it here. I am always looking for helpful tips and hints.
And I didn't fix it because I didn't realize it was an issue. It's why I struggle. I don't see what others do in my renders. It was a test, but it's a test made for suggestions and help. And I didn't see the blowout. I don't honestly know what specular blow out is, or what it looks like.
