Subject: making backdrops

I need to make a backdrop.do you use a plane or what?

I have jpg's form here and some of mine , for SCI-FI, etc.

Yes a simple plane works great. You will have to scale it to fit the image aspect ratio, but that's very simple. One thing you will also need to do is in the Surfaces tab you will have to disable or zero out all reflectivity.
