Has anyone else had problems with her? I can't use her at all.... ::WAil:: Everytime I do my poser crashes!

Hmm. No, I've been almost obsessed with my copy of her, actually, and no problems here. Have you tried deleting and re-installing her?

3-DArena ( ) posted Thu, 17 May 2001 at 6:58 PM

no, maybe I should do that. Did you install the files by hand or use the auto?

I think I did that one by hand, IIRC. Hmm. Did everything unzip okay, so no chance something got corrupted in the download?

3-DArena ( ) posted Thu, 17 May 2001 at 7:26 PM

unzipped fine. I wrote to the help email address, so maybe they will get back to me. Maybe I should download it again??

Dunno, if the unzip isn't barfing on it I'd assume all was well. Nevertheless, when in doubt it's rarely bad to go back to a state before you started and try it all over again (pain in the rump tho that may be). GL! Mark

Heya LadySilverMage... could you tell me what actions you perform on Wysteria just before Poser crashes? It might help me to figure out what is going on. Is it when just opening up the scene files, when trying to pose, when trying to render... what is going on when the crash occurs? One clue I have on this, is that 2 days ago I myself, when trying to load and use Michael's Clothing Pack 1, kept NOT being able to load half the clothes, and upon attempting to load them, Poser would "resize" itself in Windows to some strange resolution, then instantly freeze up and crash. It was the strangest thing I had ever seen. It ONLY happened with Michael's clothing, nothing else I tested, including Wysteria. However, in my solving it, it might give you some things to try. Here is what finally worked for me. First I reinstalled all of Michael's clothing, but that did not fix it :( Next I reinstalled Poser from the CD's, and then reinstalled the upgrade/patch over on the curiouslabs site. Thirdly then, I DELETED all of the old files pertaining to Michael's clothing, and then reinstalled Michael's clothing. After that, I had not another single problem, the clothing opened fine, everything went great. Somehow, somewhere, Poser, or the Clothing, got corrupted on the hard drive. Maybe all of it. So a complete reinstall of all associated things may help. I know that is a pain, and I am so sorry. So far as I know though, other than one lady who has been having trouble unzipping, no one else has reported any other problems at all with Wyteria. Please keep in touch with me, and let me know if you have gotten it fixed, so I can keep trying to find solutions for you, ok hon?

thanks for moving this rcook, I didn't know there was a store support forum! :-) Mehndi I will try to do what you suggested in email (thanks for the quick response!) As for loading the scenes, when I load the sunshine one it tells the window is too large, but it resizes it. Then as you know tells me the wings are gone. Then when I click to load the hair again it just freezes up. If I leave the sunshine the way it is and don't try to use the long braid it's fine. The moonshine one doesn't load at all, Poser goes all white and freezes up.

Sometimes it seems the most common file to get corrupted is the darned .RSR file that Poser builds as a substitute for the original .OBJ for some geometry. You can reinstall the original .OBJ files until the proverbial cows come home (got milk?) but until you actually delete the old .RSR file, which forces Poser to look at the .OBJ to build another .RSR from, Poser will never, EVER look at the original .OBJ file again. (Did I mention, never?) Oh it SAYS it can't find the .OBJ file sometimes, just before it decides to disappear into virtual limbo whatever figure you have currently selected when the .RSR is corrupted on a completely different library figure you are trying to add to your current scene, but it is ALWAYS the .rsr that's screwed up because the .OBJ will be right there where it always was, and deleting the .RSR always fixes it. I'm not really here, this is my .rsr... Thorne =};-}>
