Ok here is what I have so far. Its from earlier in the day so its not quite at the same point anymore. The big map underneath is a large animated background. On the pieces of glass are computer monitor screen captures..what they say isnt important as the fact that they are there. My current problem (of many :0 ) is I dont have nice glows like in the samples below. The data streams just dont have a nice glowy property...why? Is what Chip had below a result of a post effect? His was nice and glowy. Right now I made mine by setting everything to 0 or none except in glow. In glow I have 2 colors (green and black) mixed with a black and white .avi This gives the desired animted effect I want but it doesnt really glow...any ideals?

There is a plug-in for Carrara called anything glows, it might be the piece of the puzzle that you are looking for. As far as I understand it, you can make any thing a light source. Sorry I have just heard of it and have no personal experience with it. But may be someone here can give you more information on it.

Make usre that you enable "3D Aura" in the scene property tray under Modifiers. You probably know that; I just don't see you mention it anywhere. The scene is looking good!

Very nice piece of art ... even if it doesn't mean anything ! ;) Eric Winemiller have done a free post-render plug-in called "Glare" . It can make the highlights and glows shine . You can even apply it only to the objects you want . That's on the link ! litst

Yep, Mark hit it; I used the Aura filter.... Sorry I didn't mention it in the earlier post. And sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, here; I was out of town for work AGAIN! Ugh.... You'd think my job was important or something.... Anyway, looks very cool. Would love to see more sample images!

Well here's the pic with the glow. I have to think of a way to render it differently tho. I went from 15min a frame to 35min a frame (on a p3 500). Looks like I am going to have to bring this one home to render(athlon 900). I hate it when I have to use my home machine to render! Well this is only 12 sec out of 30. Better start working on the rest!
