Subject: Rhino 3d questions

First off, I'm seriously debating on buying a copy of Rhino 3d... and it's great that Renderosity is now offering it... but I have a couple questions... First off... why is the software so much cheaper through Renderosity? We're talking a very hefty savings, so you can see why there might be some hesitation... if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Is it the exact same version that I would get from Rhino 3D's store? Does it come with the automatic upgrade to version 2.0? Does the product include the CD and a 650-page 4-color user guide? Thanks, Doug Sturk

Doug...now think before you type:) Rhino has what is called re-sellers. The more copies a re-seller buys to sell(ie Renderosity) the cheaper they get it and the cheaper they can sell it. this is the same practice that is used with 3D Studio Max, Maya, SoftImage and alot of other software. (And I knew the answer to this and I have nothing to do with Renderosity selling it:O) I think I should get a commission for this one:) And yes these are full retail commercial and educational copies...the same thing you would get if ordering from them directly. hmmmm, yes George, will have to see about putting you on commision :) Doug - we have a written contract for Rhino and the product you will receive is the exact same as other resellers. It even comes in that nice packaging :) yvette renderosity admin

George, When in doubt, always ask. vette, Thanks for the straight forward answer. Does the purchase qualify for the 2.0 upgrade for free. (please confirm) Thanks for understanding my questions, Doug Sturk

Yes it does. Any owner of 1.1 retail will get 2.0 for free when it's out of beta. It will be a download upgrade. And if you get it while 2.0 is still in beta, you can download the beta with Flamingo and play with that as well. Doug, let me tell you as the Moderator of the Rhino fourm, I only wish Renderosity had this great deal back when I got Rhino. Come by the Rhino fourm and post :)

You can't call it work if you love it... Zen Tambour
