Hey all Ive been trying to make props for all to use ,now i make the prop in poser export it as 3ds as amapi dont cater for objs. Then i import to amapi muck about with it then save as 3ds,follow me good, right then i import it to poser size it to fit the head of the figure im working from ,then i export it as obj, open the uv-mapper and make a uv map. i save the map then i import the obj back into poser and fit to the figure when i try to put the texture on it dont work. All and any help will be much appreciated thanks in advance dolly

Dolly, in UVMapper, make sure that after you've remapped the texture and saved the texture map, that you save the model as well. The new mapping won't work with the old obj file. Like, say, you load a file into UVMapper called Prop.obj. You remap it in mapper, and save the texturemap as Prop.bmp. Then you have to use the save model command, and save the remapped model (either as Prop.obj, or under a new name, like Prop1.obj, that's up to you). Let me know if that doesn't solve your problem. --Terri

aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh.... sorry dolly I had to read it a few times 8 ) ye have to save the mapped obj as well.. so the mapping's with it.. so.. in steps.. you inport the object into uv mapper.... create the map... save the obj. [ either as uvobjname or objname] getting the mapping done up is great butif the obj doesn't have the information embedded 8 ) give it a go.. I think you'll be much pleased by the results the best of luck my friend 8 ) any questions.. that's what we're here for..

Dolly, don't worry about the "der" on saving the model. How do you suppose I knew what the problem was? Because I'd had the same problem, of course! I know what you mean about the "Eureka" moment. It's so cool when all the parts come together (though I try to refrain from running through the streets naked, like ol' Archimedes did -- the neighbors tend to get rather put out). Looking forward to your props. And Wizzard, thank you for the "lovely lady". There are those who would take issue with either word! --Terri
