Subject: Lighting question

Is there a way to make an object "invisible" to lights. I have a figure inside of a semi-transparent object (a fogbank) and I want to apply some lights to the figure without affecting the surrounding fog. Is this possible in Poser? My fogbank, by the way, is a cube with a wave-deformer acting on it with the fog transmap applied and the transparency set at max.

If I'm understanding the question properly, I doubt you can. But you might try changing the highlight and ambients in the "fog" piece to black and see if that affects the lights hitting it. In theory, they shouldn't affect it at all.

any trans abouve 46% will pass light. or at lest cast shadows through it. If you use a ambiant light for your fog and turn the highlight black you should get good fog that dont change much from lights. watch you trans mapping. Try to keep it at least 46% transparent.
