Hi, I just recently purchase Bryce 5. Im a user of 3D Studio max and i am going to try and incoperate the 2. I have many Questions I hope will be answered. First the big Question. I have Poser4, PPP and MiMic (Lipsync for poser). Can these be merged into Bryce or Vice versa. Now that I just learned Poser was sold to Curious Labs and Bryce to CorelDraw(?) will the 2 still be compatible with one another. Can i import poser into bryce? Can i import 3ds into Bryce? Can i import mountain and textures from Bryce 5 to Max r3.1- r4?? I now see Bryce 5 isnt just about making stunning background images like mountain ranges anymore. Its has primatives too. can the prims be manipulated and molded like in 3D Studio max or other 3D Rendering softwares like Lightwave or rhino or Maya? can Bryce 5 make pictures larger then 640x480? I want Digi broadcast quality like 1200+. Hope some of you can help. and where can i find tutorials to help me merge max with bryce.

Poser models/scenes can be exported in a variety of formats to Bryce. Animation doesn't carry over, but there are some third party programs just coming out now that claim to do this. (I haven't used them, search for Konan's posts on this here at R'osity). I believe that Propack's 3ds and lightwave plugins allows live import of poser scenes. 3ds files- yes .max files -no Bryce exports its terrains and symmetrical lattices in a variety of formats as well, but not its booleans or primitives Bryce renders are locked in at around 4000 pixels, but render to disc can manufacture any size you need. Bryce water animates, but you have to do it through the texture editor. Hope this helps Mitch

With a $1000 to spare, you could have had World Builder Pro with it's Max Plugin. It has animated streams, ocean waves, waterfalls, wind blown grass and trees... etc. etc. etc. It's interface was made to be pretty much like Max, and it has a somwhat steep learning curve, but for making *animated* environments (earth or alien) it's capable of doing things that are going to blow people away. Just wait and see! Go take a look... http://www.digi-element.com/
