Subject: Tips for Vue Newbies

I would appreciate a few words from the Vue artists regarding some "Things you must know if you are new" because I am :) I am truly inspired by the Vue work I've been seeing. It seems that Vue is truly the greatest tool I've ever seen to create digital art based on the images I've been looking over. So, I want to be good. I'm not incapable of using Bryce and I've used poser a great deal. That's my background. So, any newbie tips will be greatly appreciated. -WTB

Welcome William, there are many tips for Vue, but not really a special one. Here tou are on the right place to ask questions what always will find an answer. I have created tutorials for beginners. They are for Vue 2 and 3, but most of it are also for Vue 4. There you find lots of things you may want to know. And if you don't find there what you search, just ask you question here. We will answer with a smile :-) Guitta

Thanks for the plug, Mike. :) WTB, one of the best tips that could be offered right upfront is about camera position. When you open a New scene, select the camera and move to the position controls (upper right panel). Then set the "Roll" to 180 degrees. The camera will now be pointing due North, and you will find it easier to set up your scene this way. You can, of course, reposition the camera again at any time to wherever you'd like. :)

Varian, I agree with you and do it often. But we also should tell newcomers that the choosen atmosphere don't look any more like the tumbnail. Mostly the tumb shows the nicest part of the all around atmosphere.
