Subject: Zygote's animal sale hassles?

Fenris9 ( ) posted Sun, 21 November 1999 at 9:38 AM ยท edited Tue, 05 November 2024 at 10:00 AM

I've just purchased a couple of models from Zygote, as they have an animal sale on just now. --However when I downloaded the two files(the bass and shark)they were in a non-specific document file format, rather than the expected Zipfile. I've tried opening these files with Poser3 but without success. Any one out there with any ideas, or experienced the same problem??

What, if any, extension is on the file you downloaded? Get back to Zygote on this as soon as you can. I'm sure that they will do whatever they must to get it fixed.

I had similar problems - models downloaded without an extension (the Windows versions of the models are .exe files though - I renamed them then executed them to install them) and couldn't download the texture maps at all. I mailed sales@zygote.com and they put the various bits I hadn't been able to download in a password-protected directory on their FTP site for me. Al

Had same problem. I just added the *.exe extension that I needed for mine and it worked fine. Then I wrote and told them about it. They said they are having trouble with some of the browsers not doing what they are suppose to be doing with their download? I am sure since they can't change all the browsers in the world, they will have to change their stuff. They said they are working on it. So I guess they have not fixed it yet. I also wrote that the download instructions help that comes in your mail, the URL to go to, only pertains to zips. And that it really was no help at all when they are giving you .exe. Maybe they will fix this too. I know sometimes these in-capabilities are a stickler to figure out. Working on one of my own. Works in IE put not in Netscape, really wish all would be same. Would sure make life easier and I am all for that! smiles
