Subject: Dina V - No Response?

Krel ( ) posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 6:11 AM · edited Tue, 19 November 2024 at 8:35 PM

I tried emailing dthuregrif the other day for more information on Dina V.....haven't gotten a response....I went to the site but can't find more detailed examples of this figure. I would like to buy it but need to see more before I buy (i.e., how well the limbs bend without breaking as claimed)..... Anyone have any images or know where I can see more? Thanks, Krel

I've been using the model for a few days and have been impressed with the lack of breakage at the joints. I'm also working on an easy fix for a more shapley Dina and will have it up on the site in a few days. You can see how I've been doing if you look in the gallery and do a seach in the gallery for Daffy34. I also have 2 head morphs for her in the freestuff. Laurie

Krel, I'm not ignoring you. I never received your email. Sometimes, much to my annoyance, AOL seems to eat my mail. Please try me again at DTHUREGRIF@aol.com. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have. Diane

Diane, no problem......I'll see if I can get my questions answered with the posts above before contacting you... Thanks, Krel

OK, I went and looked at some images.....all of them were excellent, however all appear to have been touched up....this makes it difficult to determine what flaws were covered up......Mazak I especially like the lighting and softness of your images; Dacort yours are great too, especially the amethyst one......I'm still looking for images that show the bending and perhaps some more anatomical (nude) detail without touchup.....this does look like a revolutionary figure though. I know many things will not work with Dina (like clothing), but I would think most hair would work? Maybe shoes too? Also, this figure does not require that you have Vicky, does it? Will standard P4 female poses work with Dina? Thanks, Krel

Krel, you do not have to have Vicki. Dina is a completely new figure designed by DSI. As such, the P4 clothes will not work on her, but we are discussing doing a P4 conversion like Natalia and Vicki2 have. Most hair works fine on her with a bit of scaling. Same with shoes, although some will not conform perfectly because of her different joint parameters. P4 poses work pretty well with Dina with minor tweaking. Although you will have the same problem with fingers as P4 poses with Vicki do. Some of the finger joints are set +- the opposite way, so if the pose has bent fingers they will be bending the wrong way. Mazak says he did no postwork on Dina's joints for his images, but did do some filter work to soften the overall image. Can't swear to no postwork on Dacort's images, but I doubt he did much on the joints either. If you look at the ad images in the store at thegrc or renderotica, for both Dina herself and my texture for her, you will see Dina in a variety of positions. I did those images myself and none of them have ANY postwork to the figure itself. Only the hair has been touched up. You truly do not ever have to do much postwork on her, her joints are that good!
