Hello, I have been using photoshop 5.5 for about 1 year and half now and most of the time it works fine. But Ive had to keep reinstalling lately, several times. All of a sudden when I open part of tool bar doesnt show up and then it wont open up any files. Reinstalling always works but this is getting to be a pain. I love photoshop after using it this long and would be lost without now so I thought Id ask and see if anyone could help me with this problem.

Have you tried deleting your preferences? In 5.5, they're in this folder: Program FilesAdobePhotoshop 5.5Adobe Photoshop 5.5 Settings. The file is called Adobe 5.5 Prefs.psp. Deleting prefs is a common remedy for all kinds of mysterious problems. A new prefs file will be generated when you next open Photoshop. Note that you'll have to reset your preferences settings. -Jay Arraich
