Subject: Looking For Winter/Snow Landscape

Krel ( ) posted Tue, 20 November 2001 at 11:43 AM · edited Sun, 01 December 2024 at 11:06 AM

Hi, I'm looking for a landscape that could be used as a winter scene, preferably with snow.......anyone know if this is available? Thanks, Krel

Lots of people here at Renderosity could probably whip you us a landscape if you were a little more detailed. Go to the Vue or Bryce forums and see if that is what you are after and give a shout, someone will help you. Even I could if I knew do you want someone to create this for you or do you want software that you can create it? Sharen

I'm looking for a landscape that could pass for a section deep in the mountains near a stream that is snow-covered. I can add trees, wildlife, etc. I'm looking to create a winter scene, kind of like a Christmas card background. I don't mind if I have to do some post to create the snow effect......probably a simple gently rolling hill prop would suffice....... I'm not looking for software......I know a long time ago (a year?) someone posted a winter scene but I can't find it..... Thanks for your help, Krel

Would you like some of the other people in Vue to know of this request, there are some really spectacular artist there. Sharen

Krel, I posted two winter scences with a winter fairy about a year ago here. I haven't reposted them here yet, but they are at the 3dCommune under the name Ladyelf in their Poser gallery. See if you like those and I'll be more then happy to help if I can. Pendy

These are not the only pictures I have of the mountains and a river, but they are the closest to what you described. HTH. db 1 of 2

Oh BTW, I'd certainly be interested in what the Vue artists could do, however it has to be useable in Poser......I need an OBJ or something that Poser can import...... Krel

Hey Pendarian, I went to 3DCommune, but I guess I have to be a member to get to free stuff? Anyway I would be interested in seeing what you created, I think I remember it and at the time didn't think I would have a use for (stupid, huh?)..... Krel

Yes, the scenes are very beautiful, but I cannot take credit for making them. Long ago and far away in the year of the single speed (manual) cd-rom drive, I had a small BBS and I bought several cd-roms of so-called "royalty-free, BBS Ready" photos. (I also saved several tapes of uploads from folks.) Since I was mostly interested in photographic quality artwork (as oppossed to WMF type clip art), I was always on the lookout for other cd-roms of BMP, JPEG, or PNG images. These pictures are from those collections and tapes. (They are NOT from the Corel Photo collections that were availible around that time for a horrible price!) I have no idea who to credit for these photos; I offer them here only because I would like for them to be used and appreciated instead of collecting dust on the shelf. I'll be glad to help anyone who needs a picture for a background or whatever. (I don't have any porn anymore: I got rid of those a few years ago when my daughter started taking an interest in Daddy's computer!) Just post a request here or send me an e-mail as I sometimes don't get to the forum for a few days. You folks please keep making the great artwork I see around here. I am looking forward to learning a lot from the group. cya! deanb38@excite.com

This one i did with a bryceterrain imported in poser.texture is from bryce.but making it halfway looking like snow was very hard.

Hey Krel, you need to sign up to have access to everything even the galleries. It's free...so just sign up, it's another resource for all of us :) Pendy

Thanks Pendarian........hey thgeisel, that looks great; anyway how I can get the snow object and your secrets? That would be great for filler.....very effective, really looks like snow.....I can imagine how hard it was to do...you should put it in free stuff..... I'm looking to create a winter scene that will become a CD cover for an audio CD of Christmas music I'm putting out.....the music is kind of new-agey and I thought a scene like that would match the music.......
