Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 22 9:27 pm)
Thank you, Questor. I'll get straight to it! :) I'm not using the millenium kids, - just the ordinary P4 kids. But it looks like it's the same with these, as it is for the mill kids. So I think I'll just pose them manually. When I do, - the clothings that I've conformed (with the right names for the body parts! lol) seem to fit. Britt
Sorry, I thought you meant the milbrats. The problem you might be having with standard poses on the ordinary p4 kids might be because of their actual size. The hip location is generally going to be different than with the larger p4 characters. Essentially though they use the same joint set up as the other characters but some of the zones differ. You should be able to apply a set pose and then just tweak it accordingly and turn IK off to reposition the hip so they're closer to the ground. There are a few pose sets for the P4 kids available around the net free, such as basic sports and suchlike. If you don't have them it might be worth poking around the freestuff areas and checking out Lannie's links list at 3dmodelworld
Britt, Once you convert a .phi file you can't rename body parts like that. All you need to do is open the .obj file in UVmapper and select the body parts by group. The assign it to the correct name. And resave your .obj file. No need to mess with the mapping or the .crs, or anything else. That's all it should take. ScottA

You're supposed to be able to rename it in the Hier menu in poser itself. I've tried that, - but no cigar. I called it lForearm instead of lForeArm :( I've tried everything, exept from starting from scratch. I've made the right groups in UVMapper, - it still seems to export the wrong group (I can't remove them there, can I?) but those groups are emtpy PHI builder receives the wrong names. And I have tried to rename them there, - with no success. They still turn up in Poser as rForearm :( What do I need to do to fix it? I shouldn't have to start all from the beginning and group the figure in UV-mapper? Should I?? Another quick question. The standard poses seem to NOT fit the kids. Am I correct in this assumption?? Thanks, Britt
