Seems a little dark on my own screen; that's the curse of having a crappy 15" monitor. The characters look good. I don't see much room for improvement. I like my orcs with hair, but that's just a silly personal preference. The standing orc could use a scabbard for the sword, and perhaps a belt pouch or a backup weapon like a knife. He seems underequiped. That's a great expression on his face, by the way. Beautiful background. Was it done in Bryce?
Still working on the hair for them but they are still gonna be peartly bald and all. Any props can be added but I was just showing the base figures. No Bryce was harmed in the making of the pic. Just use the 3D worlds prop that is brokered at Daz. The orchish bodies are kind of a no go since it is really based on the clothing as well. I did teak all the limbs to make them more orcish but I had to go in instead of out. Sort of play within the existing clothes mesh. And it was just a quickie pic but thanks all.
texture looks great! yes, that's a pitty that clothes designers make very few (more often none) morphs to go with the target figure. i don't know why do they suppose that we'll all use standard michaels for knights or such. if it's free stuff it's ok, but for the paid clothes one can expect at least global body morphs also to apply to clothes. but that's an altogether different thread :-)
I don't know. I suppose that is true and most people do. Not knocking Anton's suit but it just doesn't scale very well. It wasn't really meant to. Most of it can be fixed with magnets but it is jsut a lot mor work unfortunately and it is so tight fitting that peeking is definately going to happen in a lot of cases. But thanks! been working on these guys for a while and just wanted some comments and hopefully compliments S
A lot of the color in the first render was from the lighting but he is more green inthis one. Though orcs are gray in my book. Never got nto the neon warhammer green orcs S Still gonna work on the body some more but don't know if anyone will want something that can't be clothed easily. And the poster does need to be changed but I was showing more the proportions. Those orcs would be sooooooo yelled in my high school english class. Bad posture all around S
if my memory serves me well, there are some different breed of them. your pair seem to come from the isengard - as treebeard suspected, cross-breed between humans and orks from misty mountains, who don't like sunlight but still can fight in the light of day. there are also big, ugly uruk-hai from mordor, more animal like, and also one smaller breed who used to inhabit minas ithil and cirith unghol - guys who made frodo and sam some trouble up in the mountains (what was the name - snaga?). so after all, you are maybe right about them :-)
Yep there are those breeds though the Uruk were more human though as tall as men. And Snaga means slave but they are the runts and all. There are a bunch of different breeds but the primary one is orc and uruk. then there are the half orcs which almost look like men except they are ugly and have more slanted eyes.
Hmmm . . . I guess I'm a little late to this discusion. :) I really like your orcs. I am working on some fantasy creatures myself, including an orc. (I should probably post a pic someday). I am curious where you got the clothing for them in the first pic. I am particularly intereted in the pants on the kneeling one and the footware on the standing one. Thanks! Jay
Never too late and Ijust posted it this morn :) Thanks and the clothes are the Michael fantasy changing suit available at Daz. They are a texture set I hope to have for sale soon to go along with the orc. Though it may be a seperate thing. My first for sale thing and I am trying to kick out all the stops so to speak.
OK, you asked for it Ghost.... First of all.. I love it! No here comes the critisim. The face is exceptional, and the texture is also beyond great, but I agree, this orc needs more of a Orcish body. Large feet and hands would help. a sunken in stomach (it's hard for orcs to get feed a lot). Muscles in the calves (these guys have a lot of marching to do) and forearms (lots of heavy axes to wield). Other than that, as useual Ghost, you've done a great job. James
Thanks James! I have been trying to figure out how to make the a medium of clothed or no way in heck will things fit on him. Since it is going to be for sale I don't want people upset that nothing will fit on him etc. But I want true orc lovers to be satisfied. Might have to do two CR2's so people can pick the one that serves their purpose better. That is kind of the way I am leaning right now but not sure.
