Wow, he's even got a little strap to hold his shield on =) I like his weapon, it's different, and different is always good =) and there I was thinking I could get my skaven finished so he could whip your knight before you give him his other boot and a weapon =) he looks great, can't wait to get my grubby little mitts on this guy =) I've got to pit him against the ultimate ogre muhahaha! SewerRat
heya; sewer! your skaven would take one look at this guy and run and hide! (and get his buddies... ;) ) anyhow, the knight is turning out nicely! and that weapon... it's modelled after a cattleprod, and would probably be called a taser-sword, but i'm sure it puts out more juice than is actually legal for a taser.... ;D (and how'd you do that cool drawing fx? it cant be the p4 sketch renderer, can it??!)
I was specifically looking for a comic-book/cartoony type style. In fact this is a major cheat :) The original render is done in P4 as normal. Then I do a sketch render of exactly the same picture. Then I apply it as a mask (about 60% opacity) over the top of the original render in PS. Fonts and speech-bubbles come from Blambot Fonts Paul
hey, wait a minute.... there's a way to do that IN the sketch renderer... hmmm... okay, maybe not exactly. down at the bottom of the sketch designer is a weird slider named color blend. and what it does is stick a copy of the current display mode on top of the sketch render, with opacity from 0 (none) to 1 (100%). but it doesn't have the same detail and control you get from doing two renders and splicing them together. never mind. :)
