Just wondering if anybody else had tried this trick. While I was making this helm I was having trouble creating a texture that would follow the curves of the horns cleanly. So what I did was export my helm from my modeling app as is. Then I straitened the horns and exported this version. I then took the strait horn verion into uvmapper and made a template and saved the model and template. I took this into Poser and then used my curved horn version as a morph target. Then exported. Voila I have a curved horn helm with a flattened out template.

You clever little bugger. This technique looks extremely useful. Very ingenious! Thanks for sharing. :)

Thanks hogwarden. I wasn't sure if it had been done before and thought I'd share.

What an amazingly good idea! How much easier this will make texturing the thing! Is this the version that you posted in Freestuff, BTW?

Yes it is. The only problem is if you try to remap it it goes back to the curved-horned-map.

Oh, well, I can't see why I'd want to remap it when you've made it so easy to do. Excellent!
