...contrast and colors corrected a bit, no other postwork. Minolta AF7000, AF300, Agfa400. .n

Awww, its still too blue. Or is it just my monitor?

PunkClown ( ) posted Wed, 06 February 2002 at 4:22 AM

Hmmmm, it looks fairly gold to me, but there does seem to be a very slight blue tint to the image with my monitor. But of course that could be my imagination and your incredible powers of suggestion Niko...chuckle BTW - sorry to be a total ignoramus, but what is it? ;-)>

Antoonio ( ) posted Wed, 06 February 2002 at 4:29 AM

Dunno, somekind of thingie sticking out from snow. And evening sun. .n "the suggestor"

PunkClown ( ) posted Wed, 06 February 2002 at 4:39 AM

Well, in that case, it's a great goldy-blue shot of a thingie lit by the evening sun in the snow!!! ;-)>

bevchiron ( ) posted Wed, 06 February 2002 at 4:45 AM

I love thingies : ) It is a bit blue but it's a great combination of colours.

Punkister, grin ...after seeing it few times, its ok with that blue. Snow is bit blue. Thanks bevchiron. .n

Niko, you know more about snow than me...brrrrr! big grin

bevchiron ( ) posted Wed, 06 February 2002 at 6:41 AM

Not better but a different focus, more texture & light, looks like grains of golden sand, makes me feel a bit warmer : ) Bev

Actually, I was thinking...Yes Jordy, before you say anything...I do do that occasionally ;-)> ...Both of these images could well be depicting sand instead of snow...and at different times of the day you would get a few different colours in the same shot, just taken at different times...wouldn't you?

Antoonio ( ) posted Wed, 06 February 2002 at 7:06 AM

Alpha, I agree, its different. Looks good, but now I see that blue is needed to create feeling of snow. Your version looks like sand, golden sand. .n

Misha883 ( ) posted Wed, 06 February 2002 at 7:50 AM

it's a great goldy-blue shot of a thingie >lit by the evening sun in the snow!!! What a title! I guess everyone is really happy that Alpha is back? What creative energy! The unsharp mask helped the most. [Some sharpening of digtal images is always needed; it's not any admission of failure, it's part of the mathematics. Antoonio- think of it as a D/A reconstruction filter. The sharpening compensates for the sin(x)/x rolloff caused by using "boxcar" samples.] [Hey, no stranger than a great goldy-blue shot of a thingie lit by the evening sun in the snow!!!] Love the sparkles! So, I guess my idea this month for snow textures is already shot out of the park?? ;-)

Antoonio ( ) posted Wed, 06 February 2002 at 7:57 AM

Yep, I agree, small amount of sharpening aint' bad. And I have done my homeworks with sinX'n stuff. And forgot whole thing after the exams. ;oP .n

'Thingy' look like one of those long rests for the cue in Snooker when taking a shot down the table. But it's obviously got lost on it's way home. (",) btw, well done, Punky!! We'll have you doing joindy-up writing soon, too!

starshuffler ( ) posted Wed, 06 February 2002 at 8:44 AM

Actually the blue tint doesn't really bother me. In Alpha's post, the supposedly blue thingies are now greenish and they kinda look like moss. It's amazing how the same pic can be different by just adjusting colors. :-) I like 'em both. (*
