This is what I've been working on all through the night! I've got some post work to do on it yet but does anyone know what's causing the funky lighting on the tree bark? The only lights in the scene were the sun and a volumetric light in the lower window of the cottage. The cottage btw is by Sams3D, great modeling Sharon :)

Hard to say. How many lights do you have? have you updated to the 4.05-02 patch? I can see that you have at least one volume light, and it might be something to do with the transparency of the tree leaves. Really though, the lighting kind of looks like patches of no shadow, like if there was another light above the tree.

There's only 2 lights in the scene, the sun and the volumetric one shining out of the bottom window, and It came out of the box as Version 4.05-02. I'm really scratching my head here Doesn't really matter, I can fix it up pretty quickly in photoshop, just a bit puzzling that's all. And now I've just noticed that the football is sitting through the ground instead of on it!

What a really cool scene! Use the Material Summary and open the Tree Bark material, then on the Effects tab, lower the ambience setting. You could lower the diffuse setting, too, but ambience is the main one. That should cut down the way it's catching the lighting. :)
