Subject: What about tutorials for Mac folks??

Patricia ( ) posted Mon, 18 March 2002 at 12:05 PM · edited Mon, 18 November 2024 at 10:20 AM

Just got hooked on fractals about 3 weeks ago...can't believe there are so many other addicts! Isn't it great that we have our own forum now!!!! Thank you, audre I started on MandelBrowser and discovered EasyFractal a couple of days ago. Did a search on several search engines for 'fractal' and 'fractal software Mac' and found the (comparitively few) free + shareware apps that are out there for we diehard Mac people. But no tutorials.....? So far I have downloaded: MandalBrowser, EasyFractal, MacFract, MacFractint, and found Fractal Domaines today, thanks to this forum! But I really, really need some tutorials.........?

If you don't see the products on the linked web sites that I listed I will get back with ya tonight. There are some very cool software programs for Apple Macintosch. That was the first computer that I learned fractals on back in winter of 1980 at school..Ah what hot mems...

Tutorials wont be a problem...Tell me how up to par that you are in the math terminology for the computer software??? If ya get time check out my latest photo posts...

How up to par I am in the math terminology?! (hysterical laughter) SF author Larry Niven once succintly described me as "innumerate...you know, like 'illiterate' only with numbers..." He is a very smart man and was he ever right! But I LOVE fractals....I will even learn how to type in letters and numbers into equations if it will help me to make more gorgeous, seductive fractals. (And you will never know what an effort it was for me to even type in those words........) I'll check in here tomorrow and get in touch with you if you are still foolish...oops! generous enough to teach me.

Tried the chat this AM, Aristo, but no luck. There's always instant messaging, I guess. Actually, a lot of the info you give me could probably be helpful to other beginning fractalers.....? Maybe we should do it in public.....Can't believe I just typed that that way!!! I mean maybe we should exchange questions and answers here in the Forum....!

What kind of software programs do you use????Patricia...

Patricia ( ) posted Tue, 19 March 2002 at 5:49 PM

Actually, Arista (or is it Aristo?), happen to be wearing overalls right this minute. Don't braid my tresses too often, probably should--they're always in my way. I'm on my way out the door now--time to go get a couple of rats for my snake.....And I'm not kidding! With my weird life, there's no need to make up creative excuses! When I have more time--like tomorrow AM sometime--I'll list my software....Oh, wait--way, WAY back up this thread, in my original (innocent, unsuspecting) question, I did list them. I know, it was a long, long time ago......
