Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 11 12:18 am)
The geometry and textures can be in any folder. They need not even be in the Poser directory at all. You can put the whole batch in the same folder. The Poser Library files are restricted to the Libraries that match their extensions. If you have the textures applied and move copies to your common folder: Poser does not like it when you try to apply a texture that is the identical name, but in a second location. You must either use a different name, save the Library file with no textures and reopen and apply those textures from the new location, or text edit the Library file after you save it. You can put the geometry and the textures in the same folder with the Library file, and if the only copy of the texture is in this folder, Poser will find it. The geometry path must be precise. Poser does not look. If it is wrong, it punishes you.
It seem like a good idea to put these textures in the same folder as the obj file when exporting to other programs. If you save an obj or a 3DS from Poser and import that file into Bryce you will have to point to the texture file every time it is called for in the OBJ. If it is in the same folder as the OBJ you will not get this run around. Hope this is right and that it helps. You may have to dig these files up ..... so i guess that the answer to your question may be a "NO"
IIRC, Yarp said his P3dO_Explorer did something like this. Really don't recall but it either included related files when moving a poser file, or would at least list all the related files so you could go collect them before zipping. Sorry, really don't recall the particulars of the feature & could be mistaken.
Alas not at the moment Nance. I was thinking to such a regroupment but logically, not physically. Luckily next P3dO release will focus on such a feature - I'm making a ZIP installer/uninstaller - so I can also add this regrouping feature, this seems to me a good idea. Available next month... Yarp

Hi, everyone!
Does anybody has an idea, if there is a way copying all textures used in a poser scene into the same folder as the *.obj file while exporting for use in other 3D applications?
Comments are wellcome!
Happy Rendering
