you got one bad comment and a bad rating, but 2 good comments.But what really counts, is that you like your images!! If you only do images for good comments and ratings, I think youll get disapointed very soon.

I don't think it's anywhere near that bad a review: his comments are honest and worthwhile. It's certainly not anything like "who put togther this piece of $#@#!#^&%&?", which shows up occasionally. :)

this is why i encourage people not to turn on image ratings. it keeps the trolls at bay. besides, all youll ever get is either perfect 10s, 9s, or 1s and 2s from trolls. noone ever uses it properly. as for the comment? yes, its quite harsh - especially the fact that it lacks imagination. i went through neojin's gallery, and 99% of it is just him recolouring comic artist's inks, or photos. that doesnt exactly reek of imagination now, does it? smittms' pic? technically speaking its not that great - but hes a new artist, and i see progression in every one of his pics. and apparently hes trying to do something different, which is great - im tired of seeing naked VV on a black background. and the technical skill will develop FAST, poser has a shallow learning curve. hell, hes getting off to a much better start that i did, my first images sucked. yet if i would have gotten a comment like what neojin or whatever left him, i probably never would have posted here again. (im sure that would make a lot of people here happy, hehe). happy easter folks, yes, even the trolls ;) cheers, -gabriel

btw - dont get me wrong - a lot of what neojin said is correct... and he did say I like to give honest opinions so don't be offended by honesty, bit that doesnt excuse the fact that a 2 is incredibly harsh. hell, a 1 would even be better, since then its an obvious troll. a 2 is like... a troll trying to disguise itself as an 'honest opinion', like he actually thought for a moment and evaluated the image before choosing a 2. yeah right. im tempted to go through his gallery and give him some honest ratings on what i think of his work. but the thing is, a reaction like that (and this thread) just encourages these people. they never change. were just giving them the attention they crave.

I wouldn't worry about the comments, you know what you were going for. You can tell when someone is just being a jerk about it, and when someone is honestly trying to help. There are some real losers here, don't let them get you down, because there are a lot of people here that although they may not like what you have created will still give you some good ideas on how to make it work better, without being just downright mean. Those people tend to think their way is the only way, what a pity. They are missing out on a lot by closing their minds to other ideas and ways of presenting those ideas. Marque

Okay.... lets be Brutal & Honest... heres My opinion (since My render kinda started this) : 1st..... I don't like a pic, I don't post , rate or say squat, as for neo's talent, I had him beat with My 1st render,let alone now, his opinion means jack s**t to Me, I know its not the best render..... I even said that in My discription. Funny thing is.... I have done damn near 100... thats right one-hundred renders since My last posting in January, just playing around & expeirmenting, I check the comments box for ppl like Blackhearted, Irish, & Marque..... not ppl like neo. 2nd..... End of the day.... I know (not from ego either), that I am better than a decent percentage of ppl who have been using Poser for years, I started less than a year ago...... late september 2001 to be exact....I started out....to learn... & ppl like neo CANNOT break My Spirit or Drive, because, at the end of the day, I know all My works are original..... can he say that ??? 3rd.... As Blackhearted said... I am still learning, & I know this, its kinda like learning to ride a bike, keep trying.... till You give up, or get it right.... & I don't give up.... so, guess I'll get it right eventually. thats all I have to say, apoligies if I offended Anyone... & thanks for the real comments Everyone, I usually just ignore ppl like neo..... guess its his personal insecurities, not sure.. don't care, his problem (& his therapists), not Mine. thanks for reading, Thomas

Why does it have to be a troll? Neojin left a rating and said what was wrong with the image, in his opinion. He didn't just type "It suxs" or flame the guy about another booby pic. It was an honest critique with an honest rating. The artist didn't even take time to anti-alias the image before slaping it up to be viewed. Before I wrote my comment, I looked at the rest of the artist's gallery. Still I didn't rate the picture because my rating would have been a one, especially after I compared it to some of his other images, like the vampire one. But I knew that giving that number would draw negative feedback on me, just like Neojin is getting for his critique. And those negative attacks are the reason we only see comments like "That R0X0R's dude!" "Awesome!" and unhelpful crap like that in the gallery's rather than helpful comments that might cause the artist to try harder to create a better image the next time works on his art. -Moon

No, I'm really part of his inner circle of cliquish friends. Our nefarious plot is to take over the galleries by driving away the new artist's who may one day be rivals for the top twenty. We do this by leaving honest critiques and tips for actually improving their work. Obviously our plan needs work since we we're spotted so easily. Truth is un-aliased images are all the rage in Paris and I'm just jealous of your mastery of this form of art. -Moon
