I am thinking about a combination.I first thought about having the picture in a glass display case??Antique. But then I thought well..I need more Complex frames "N" Stuff so that I will be able to highlight my work in a specular presentation for a more complete focused package.I feel that this will bring about better quality in my"Pre-Post_Production".But,will also give me the ability to Add-In more complexity to the piece.Hence, I will produce better work.I hope that this topic will produce a better pre-post/productional theory that will enhance my authoring process. The frame can be anything"I thought it was "V"very plane..." The photo I could send back through Pre-Post/Pro"PPP".But,I didn't think it looked too awful.So.Feel free to tell me it's a ragdoll.I didn't hear that..

the frame really detracts from the image. i LIKE the image, i DONT like the frame. looks like you were trying for camo or something. If you must use a frame, do something subtle, something that wont take all the attention away from the image. Maybe just a drop shadow would be best if you're wanting a 3D effect.

If you decrease the texture on the frame by a factor of 10, it would give an interesting granitelike effect, I bet.

Ok.Maby something close to this {{This needs major work}} What kind of colors do you think would complement the photo I think that I may need to redoo the fractal so it will fit better er look different...??

Micheleh ( ) posted Wed, 03 April 2002 at 6:17 PM

If it were me, I'd make color 2 a dark greenish gold, and give the frame a nice reflection and shine for depth. (Is the background color on the frame a true black? It looks like the specular is a bit strong, or maybe the roughness a bit high.)

CrystalWizard ( ) posted Wed, 03 April 2002 at 6:19 PM

that is much better however I have to ask what are you trying to display? the fractal or the frame?

Micheleh ( ) posted Wed, 03 April 2002 at 6:26 PM

I think it's a good concept, myself- to take a 2d image, and build a 3d "frame" for it. Interesting. I may just do one myself.

Well I'm back from tha laundry matt..What???I did my sock's.. Well CW the concept is that one of the most complex and un-imagineable dimentions are created with fractal math.Stuff that we still cant understand/compute. Now.CW take a good look at the super complexity of the fractal. Now I know that anyone will agree that this piece is a very rare piece??What makes it rare if everyone and their brother has a copy of the software that did this???well everyone and their brother didn't create from wonderful thin air the pre-post/pro steps to observe there own error's so one could become more accurate. You and everyone else takes time to communicate with me.look's at what I am showing and tell's me what what they think and see.I love to here any kind of opinion whether or not it may even be in question of the relationship..Now CW I am not thinking that you were asking a special question??Am I??No Well my point is that fractals can be displayed for what they are to??me??... I will brobably do the same thing to a jewelry display"antique". I will go back over the lighting.and put the print on tha wall???...Would a glass cover like a regular picture frame look

CrystalWizard ( ) posted Wed, 03 April 2002 at 9:29 PM

no what I was asking was...do you want your focal point to be the frame? or the fractal that's in it? if you want it to be the frame, the the fractal needs to be less interesting. If you want it to be the fractal, the frame needs to be less interesting. One should enhance the other, not compete for attention. So I wanted to know what you intended your actual focus of the composition to be. still do. but your last 2 sentences gave me an idea..how about, instead of putting it in a frame, you put it on the face of a watch, or a broach or a piece of jewelry?

Ooooo---that last one's a neat idea! Myself, I'd scan in an image of a really gorgeous Old Master's type frame from one of my framing catalogs (Graphic Dimensions has a bunch of them--$$$) and apply it to a simple mesh frame. It would look like it escaped from a museum....? And gold leaf would add an antique feel to your display case idea. But I wouldn't put any glass effects over the fractal--make it look more like a richly colored oil painting.....?

Exactaly. One of the major feature's for the pice should be a fresh and thick oil paint;I think that I could superimpose the jpg into a bump and add only one or two more layered bumps and come up with the lavish oil paint"LOOK".. I am so glad that you came up with that..Absolutely no glass. Thanks for the frame leed.I will bring up the antique jewelry case in a few days. I'll finish the pre-post/pro on the piece above. It's possible that I may hunt down a antique womans watch for this piece as well..Thank You Patricia..
