I'm still in the middle of adjust this nightly scene. But I'm having a particular problem with the glow intensity on some of the objects. I know there's a way to disable the Glare filter on an object in RDS 5, but can the same be done with 3D Aura? Or is there some kind of other trick around it? Another problem I'm having is I keep getting a 'Null point Error' message whenever I attempt to open this file. I end up having to import the whole scene from the original file. Could this be a memory related problem since the scene is so big?

i don't know what to tell you. i never use rds, but your image is lookin' good. you had better be preparing this for the contest. in fact, no one should be allowed to work on anything right now but the contest. : )

I didn't know you could do that in RDS. I've had many reasons to want to exclusively do this kind of thing in C but have never discovered a way to make it work. -Kix

There is no way to do 3D Aura by object. Your best bet is render aura and no aura versions and do a little mixing and matching of parts in your favorite 2D app. Good Luck, Eric Winemiller Digital Carvers Guild Freeware and commercial 3D extensions http://digitalcarversguild.com

Eric, as usual, is right. This is best handled in a paint program. But just in case you don't have one, here's an RDS bug that can finally be used for good instead of evil!

The above illustration shows a glowing sphere partially obscured by a rectangle, but when the rectangle's transparency is set to 100% ~~~ viola ~~~ the object is visible, but the aura is still blocked.

Hope that helps.

Yeah I was just about to mention that when I noticed the storefront interiors lacking Aura. Thanks for the tip though. I would've never known that it was an actual (not to mention helpful) bug.

Have you tried the 3D option for 3D Aura? Or the brightness slider on the glow channel or use a darker color for your glow?
