If i want to make texture maps for a model, don't I export as an object from poser and import into UV mapper? When I do the maps seem to be all one on top of the other and I can't figure out how to separate them so I use them as maps for texturizing. Am I doing something wrong? The object is the Ballroom from free stuff.

Once the object is loaded into UVmapper click "Edit-New UVmapp" and select your desired type.

To seperate them: select them (By group or material, depends what you have) and than you can move them around and place them where you want. After placing all separate mats, save the template AND THE Modell, and than use the new modell!

If you wish to retain the original mapping but just want templates of each section then do the following:-

  • Select all but one of the components using Edit/Select by/Material.
  • Use the hot key "[" to hide these facets.
  • Save this texture map.
  • Use the hot key "]" to reveal hidden facets and repeat for each section.

Because you have not changed the mapping you do not need to save the OBJ. You can now create your textures using these templates and apply them to each material.
