Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 25 9:50 pm)
Ron, I took classes at LVS about a year ago, but I only did the html classes,( The teachers are great in the html classes) but I don't know what the poser or photoshop class is like. I also took classes in Vue and Bryce at the eclectic academy, and they were great I learned a lot there :)

Ron A few of my friends and I are taking the LVS class right now. IT IS VERY BASIC...but, if you are self-taught like we are, it is very worthwhile. (especially priced at 20.00!...with no book purchase required) The instructor is great and response time to our posts is amazing. Actually, most people in the class are pretty experienced with Poser, so you can also pick up tips from them. It is also a small class for an online one. I have taken a number of LVS classes and have been very pleased with most of them. IM me if you would like the link to my LVS Poser homework site to give you an idea of what it is like. BTW, regarding educational discounts: "Software Discounts: Current LVS students can buy their favorite programs, at a student discount! Note: Verification from our office is required in order to purchase products from these academic resellers. Please read the information for the reseller you are interested in buying from and follow the instructions. (Unfortunately, Microsoft and Adobe products are excluded from this offer.)" Diane
I'm taking the Poser class right now, and took the Bryce class last time. Excellent course material and great feedback from the instructor. Is is worth $20 ($15 for returning students)? You bet! I will be taking any and all classes they offer on Bryce and Poser, and then I will start on the PainShop Pro classes as well. Peggy

It sounds like this might be worthwhile. In some ways, the basic stuff like lighting and cameras still escapes me.. and I only tried exporting to Bryce once.. didn't get it right. Hey, and now I know others taking the class. Does this sound weird though: I'm writing tutorials for Poser newbies, and I'm going to be taking a class meant for Poser newbies?! If you haven't seen my Tutorial and Freebie Site, you might find it interesting.Attached Link: http://www.lvsonline.com/
Gosh, I'm sorry. I should have posted that link on my first message.. ![Message671414.jpg](http://www.renderosity.com/photos/Message671414.jpg)Attached Link: http://www.eclecticacademy.com/index.htm
There is also another place that offers on-line classes. Eclectic Academy offers classes on Bryce, Poser, and Vue, plus a whole lot more. I am taking the Vue class there and Poser at LVS. PeggyLVS - Where Learning is Fun!

I've heard good things about LVS Online Classes. I see they have a Poser 4 Intro Class. This may seem funny, but I think it may have something to offer me. I'm still floundering about with some basics. Often the best way for me to get the hang of something is with someone around to help. Has anyone taken this Poser Intro class? Or any of the other LVS classes for that matter? I have my eye on the PhotoShop classes, since I want to learn how to finally create a good texture for my clown. The Dreamweaver and Fireworks classes look interesting as well, hmmm. Ron
