If you've noticed an absence of Brits lately, the Jubilee event was phenonmenal! You wouldn't believe.....

David_Amos ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 1:28 PM

well all i can say is... She knows how to throw one heck of a party :) wow!!!

chohole ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 1:54 PM

Yes it was one hot event, and still going on in various locations around the UK, just taking a quick pc break and then back to the party.

Great parade today, too.

and is that paid for by the british tax payer ?

saxon ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 3:52 PM

...and worth every penny just to see the guitarist from Queen playing the national anthem from the top of Buck house, or a million people singing Land of Hope and Glory, or Concorde, or the Hells Angels charging down the Mall full pelt at HM, or Dame Edna, I dunno just brilliant....

steveshanks ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 4:29 PM

davidm ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 5:12 PM

Yep, I really enjoyed it too! The concert rocked, and seeing the great Brian Wilson playing at Buckingham Palace was just priceless! Good Vibes! Dave :-) PS Did anyone EVER believe they would see Cliff Richard and Ozzy boppin' together on the same stage?! Unbelievable! Ha Ha!

iggy23 ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 6:41 PM

This is how popular the Royal Family REALLY is.

Saw a glimpse of HM the Q in the TV news - seemed to be muttering "Now is the winter of our discontent..." under her breath ;o)

No thanks. There's enough class division in the States as it is; why would anyone want to reintroduce all that royalty/nobility crap? Besides, our celebrities are a whole lot better looking. The royal family are a very expensive dog and pony show, a vestigial governmental organ as useless as your appendix. God knows why the Brits keep them around; everybody loves a parade, I guess.

saxon ( ) posted Wed, 05 June 2002 at 9:24 AM

Two little memories off the top of my head: Phillipa Forrester asking a tiny tot which commonwealth country she was representing, answer - China!!! and of a semi-naked aborigine complete with digeredoo (sp!) and a couple of boomerangs, "where are you from then?" brilliant....

kris ( ) posted Wed, 05 June 2002 at 1:25 PM

I think the only reason they are kepped on is because they are cheeper than having a president. I want a tax rebate for working through the celebration. Kris

Can't decide whether its worse to have an hereditary Head of State, or to sell the post to the highest bidder.

hmatienzo ( ) posted Wed, 05 June 2002 at 7:53 PM

Is there a reason you posted this 4 times???

bikermouse ( ) posted Thu, 06 June 2002 at 12:26 AM

Anarchy, that's the ticket. or Mosca for President !! or God save the Queen from the truth. I think the thing is they give the Brits a reason to have a party and drink lottsa that warm beer.

lmckenzie ( ) posted Thu, 06 June 2002 at 1:40 AM

"Besides, our celebrities are a whole lot better looking." Of course, that says it all, appearance above all else. No need to stop at the checkout Winona, you look too beautiful.

"Can't decide whether its worse to have an hereditary Head of State, or to sell the post to the highest bidder." Touche. "Of course, that says it all, appearance above all else." It was meant ironically. A joke.

bikermouse ( ) posted Thu, 06 June 2002 at 3:55 PM

King Mosca. sorta has a ring to it, nicht wahr?

bikermouse ( ) posted Thu, 06 June 2002 at 3:57 PM

Hey buy the way, Mosca when you gonna put that 3 brested woman model in freestuff? She's way neat!!! Message671424.jpg - no threebrested woman to play with.

Mosca ( ) posted Thu, 06 June 2002 at 5:27 PM

I prefer the title "Grand Potentate," if it's ok with you. I hate to disappoint you, bikermouse, but she's a fiction, done in Photshop. Don't tell anyone, ok?

I knew that, Sire. But you gotta admit, It would be neat if someone would do the threebreasted thing. I haven't bothered to figure out if it's possable given that parent/child stuff poser uses.
