Subject: Writing New Tutorial - seeking feedback

Well I'm writing a new tutorial: In Just Seven Steps I Will Make You A Man; Creating a character with personality from a stock Poser model I am planning on aiming this at multiple skill levels, from novice to merchant and will be discussing copyright and etiquette issues regarding freestuff and commercial figure usage. I'm writing this now becuase I'm actually partway through the building process with about five very different characters, and will be using them for illustration purposes. (as well as older characters I've built or collected) But as you all know, I want to make sure I cover everything I can. So tell me what would you expect and/or want to see in a tutorial of that name? Please be specific and detailed. :) Thanks! Lyrra "Oh just one more project won't hurt" Madril

That sounds wonderful. I have just spent the last few months trying and retrying, and sweating and cursing, and think I finally have a handle on character creation...so such a tutorial would have been wonderful. I think one important thing for us newbies is process...which step in development to work on when. In one of my earlier attempts I put a sweater on my character, and stretched and scaled it to how I wanted it, only to realize that I forgot to hit the "conform to character" thing...man..what a mess when I finally did :) So I personally think the step by step thing would be helpful. Don't know if this is helpful, Lyrra. I was thinking of perhaps trying my hand at doing a character at various stages of life, to illustrate how the body, skin, posture and hair changes. You would be much better at this than me. But if you lack the time, maybe you could keep this in mind and provide some guidance as you write the tutorial. Look forwar, as always, to your work. Chohole, but it's amazing what doctors can do these days ;) Rawn, exactly. I've found that I go through a definate set of steps each time, and every time I make a character I refine my procedures so it is easier next time. I'm also planning to discuss morphing vs sclaing, and the use of helper programs (like MorphManager and Tailor) Quixote, the closest I was planning on getting to that was discussing how age and other factors affect physical appearence, and therefor give more depth to the history of the person. An actual aging progression hadn't really ocurred to me. thanks guys :) Lyrra
