How much more of an improvement is 5 over 4? Basically, is it worth the money? Especially, if ya kind inna deficit like I am. Thanx y'all

No. I just buy P5 so the other guys'n'gals on this forum don't look down at me.

Personnaly, I think it is. If you want to have a personnal opinion on P5 content you can get the manual from Curious Lab web site. There are severall new toolbox in P5, some of them directly inspired from Pro Pack, but others are new. MadYuri, I didn't buy PPP and nobody on that forum looked down at me, but I must admit it is better to keep being up to date like elswhere in modern life, isn't it ? Yarp

Hehe, it was a joke. ;) But to be serious, P5 is maybe a great step up for everybody who uses Poser as a standalone application, but they still don't have the 'Make Great Art' button. Just now Poser 5 is very much hyped but nobody knows if the new features are essential or just eyecandy which won't be used for everyday posering.

Download the manual from CL & see for yourself. Weather something is worth the money or not is a matter of individual finances, if you have a large income you might see the price as very reasonable & if you're strapped for cash and have to pinch pennies to get it then you might think it's pricey. As for asking what everyone thinks of the program, you are a little premature because it hasn't ben released yet. So far only a handful of people have been able to see it in action (CL employees, beta testers & a select few at conventions) In a few weeks there will be a flood of P5 reviews, and judging from past new releases the critism will be brutal.

MadYuri, I think like you but I'll buy P5 anyway.

i use bryce for my renders. i'm not that excited about p5, unless i see some really great things in the gallery. (why am i sure that i am gonna see a bunch of naked judys instead of vickis....same ol...same ol...yawn.)

I think its worth the money. Look at the new features :) Clothroom, Morphroom and so on (I'm personally not interested in the new figures that comes with Poser 5)... If your using 3D Studio Max or Lightwave or Maya for example you have to pay lots of extra money to have that features. Poser comes with them in one package for a very good price. Maybe Poser 5 will be as buggie as Poser 4 when it comes out but I think CL will fix it all in a short time. Chris

I have a real doubt about Poser5, this is because the minimun requirement is Pentium III 500Mhz, it implies that Poser5 is a very slow implementation of a rendering engine. If Poser4 is slow, how much slower is Poser5 ????, of course you can overcome this slow implementation with a Pentium VIII 20 Ghz.......

Stupidity also evolves!

How can anyone have an objective opinion before Poser5 is even released? Once I've heard from some users, and seen what normal users (as opposed to Curious Labs) have produced, I'll start to form an opinion. For the moment the best we can do is make educated guesses.
