need help on rendering the beast.I have a P3 725 processor, an 512 megs of Ram.can't seem to render the dragon very well. Sometimes it works somtimes not.ifHow do you cut resolution down in paintshoppro5.pixel size or just size, tried one map worked once then didn't.any ideals on how long it should take to render, number of lights to use, type of lights etc.If it worked for me only could do far shots choked on close-ups.any help or ideas would be nice-please thanks inadvance.

I have 512 mb too and no probs added viccy wth a highresmap and clothes and a backdrop ,and still no probs.Using win xp. I would try to use the dragon without the bump maps.

I was able to use 2 mil-dragons each with a different textures (from the store) and different accessories without a problem (win2k and 1G ram). I was surprised at how quickly it rendered (the dragon, that is) There isn't much transparency there, so it is like rendering any other solid structure with a big texture map. If you are using win9x, you might have to buckle down with smaller textures. I had trouble with some of DAZ's hires textures until I reduced them to a smaller size. eric

Folks, remember that if you're going to reduce your MilDragon texture maps, you should do the same to corresponding bump maps at the same ratio. For those like me who don't have ProPack, do this before converting the .jpg files to .bum files. This model has more individual bump maps than anything I've seen, in addition to being a large .cr2 to begin with. Reducing resolution by percentage in PSP is probably the easiest way to go. Those with Photoshop have a little more ease of control. Good luck ... if you reduce your map resolutions your problems will probably be solved.

Also it's a good idea to make sure that you always have the patched the latest verion of Poser 4/ProPack, both are not at revision 3. Earlier versions suffered from memory problems, especially when combined with some Windows versions (XP also recommended) The latest patches are available from the Curious Labs website. Bill

If you running win98 2ndE, I don't care how much memory you have it gives Poser problems. That is what this computer is with 512 ram memory and I use to get a Vicky to Render right half the the. I bought a new Computer, thats not on line from Dwayne at Tri Stars, and now my Poser Kicks butt. I can render anything. :O). I saved a long time for it, and I'm glad I did.

i found out when rendering that beast keep all outside apps running to a minimal like mine wouldnt render when i was running mIRC with a sysreset script 4 webpages up winamp and Vue running. hehe i only have 256 megs of pc133 and a 1 gig duron so that also may be a issue. but keep as many resources free. i havent changed the size of my maps but so far so good now if i could only find a dang silver dragon texture or learn to make one myself :D
