Not really a secret Jeff. I just had to figure out the best way to plan out the mesh. That's the hardest part for me. Figuring out how to approach a project. I tried using splines because that's how most people make smooth objects like this. But I just couldn't figure out how to fill in the middle properly and neatly once I had the outter curves made. I ended up creating a flat patch with very few squares. Then I extruded a couple of them to create the pointed parts. Then I extruded the whole thing for thickness. Then I used Nurbs on it to smooth it out. Then tweaked it a bit to finish. Then of course I used my own personal method to rip out all the unneccessary parts of the .obj file to lighten it up even more. And I ended up with a decently smooth object that isn't a huge file size like the Rhino guys are used to making. As you know. I hate large file sizes. I consider it cheating. And they suck to work with. But since my web site limits files to 1 meg. I've really had to train myself to keep things as efficient as possible. I always admired how well DAZ did with the P3&P4 figures compared to their file sizes. ScottA
volfin, there's one thing that 'may' make it look different... your reduced version was converted to triangles. Poser generally renders quads better than triangles, so you might see some (slight) differences. Nice reduction job though.

I've been finishing up all of my half done projects latley. Joe Satriani and I use the same weapons. ;-) So I figured I'd finish this up so it's good enough to post. It took me a while to figure out how to get this thing smooth without it being a huge file size. Finally nailed it this afternoon. ScottA
