I have other contest ideas lined up, (lots of other ideas and possible prizes lined up), but how grandiose I can get depends on how many entries we get.

We have some great talent here. I know you guys can really "Wow!" the judges. I also know they've really liked the entries so far, that their appetite has been whetted, and they'd love to see more.

To everyone who has entered - thanks for the wonderful stories! It's going to be a tough contest to judge - I'm glad I don't have to be the one to decide! You guys really put a lot of effort into it. I know that chucksiebuhr, who created the image, is flattered by the great stories.

To those of you who haven't submitted - I know the competition is tough, but this is your shot at being published. It's your chance to work with professional editors and get your foot in the door to paid publishing. (It's also great bragging rights to be able to truthfully say that you're a published author.)

I guess I should have said something. I like the picture and all but when I look at it for words, nothings speaks to me. I draw a blank. So, that's why I haven't entered.

No worries. Some times the muse wanders elsewhere. I don't remember the exact quote, but a local writer said something to the effect of, "I don't have time to wait for the muse to show up. I hunt her down, drag her in, and make her sit her butt down in the chair and start typing." ;-) Hopefully the next contest will snare her for you. Cheers!

It would also be nice to know how many entries... That way you would feel a little better at taking 6 of 1000..hopefully... CAT

I have the beginning of a story, that would have gone really well with the cover pic, but alas I haven't the time to complete it. I desperately want to though, since I'd really love to read it and find out how its going to end~ LOL.

If it's a large number of entries, people tend to say, "There's so many entries, I'll never get picked, so I won't enter." If there's a small number of entries, it's "Well, if I don't win with so few entries, I'll feel like an idiot, so maybe I shouldn't enter." I will say that there's definitely less entries than our big contests, where I've seen 100+, but there's enough so that we'll fill up the Back Room with the winners, and not all the stories submitted will be in the back room after the contest is over. (I was really afraid that there wouldn't be enough entries, but we did get more than the minimum.) Rendered2Blue - if you don't have enough time to finish it by Tuesday, hopefully you'll finish it later and post it so we all can read it.

I'll probably post an excerpt here, before its done- I had planned to keep adding to it, circumstance permitting. It may end up being too huge an upload~ LOL

Last chance to enter and be published! BTW - if you've sent something in the last day or two, my modem is down, so I haven't been able to collect entries. It should be up tonight. If not, all entries received by tonight will be valid - it just may take an extra day for the judges to get them. Good luck everyone!!!
