Ok just about driven roudn the twist with Millenium Dragon. Been working on a project, I had the dragon previously but never worked with it much, so never touched the textures. So now I try working with it... Textures go berserk, have tried every way to load them in (perr body part, "body" using the Pose setting), always end up with textures all over the place. Tried deleting everything and re-installing, STILL same crap. Tried exporting model, even with no textures, as obj file for Bryce...it crashes bryce every time. Any one got any ideas? :( here's a pic of the craptastic dragon texture goof ups

Heheheh, I like the pose.... The textures can be a pain, but I've had little trouble getting them to work. I did half the size of the textures with no noticable loss of quality except in extreme closeups, and poser stopped whining for more memory... They really should but texture directions in the readme files... The textures have to be loaded the hard way, a material group at a time, and you might want to turn each mat group white as you go. The head texture goes on all the head parts except the eyes, the body texture on everything else except the wings, which get the wing tex (this includes the wing claws), and the eyes which have their own tex. That should work. Something about poser obj exports gives bryce fits, some more than others... I had the same problem with the dragon, but running it through Grouper fixed it. Sorry, I don't have the link with me, but it is a very useful free program. You might try searching freestuff. Hope that hepled some....

This may not pertain to your problem, but you might want to compare the textures you're using with the MilDragon Templates (downloadable from it's DAZ Store product page). Daz has sold other dragons (and still does) called the DAZ (or Zygote) Dragon, and the Adult Hatchling. None of the textures are interchangable, so if you're using, say, a texture made for the DAZ Dragon rather than the MilDragon that could very well cause what you're experiencing. I've seen textures labeled for the MilDragon in Freestuff here. Hope this helps...

Oh yeah, all the textures that end with a "b" are for bumpmaps. The eyeball gets no texture, and should be left transparent. The spines get their own textures also, a different one for the middle spines. Ditto for the fin.

I've just noticed when I'm chnaging the HEAD textures, instead it's changing the BODY texture, WTF?! Ran the updater for Mill Dragon from Daz, no joy. Is Poser screwed? need reinstalled? ack

Make sure the "Texture changes apply to Entire figure" box is unchecked under surface materials. This only works when it's a single texture for the whole character.

I deleted every damn Mil Dragon file, rebooted, reinstalled it, then reinstalled updater on top of fresh installation of Mil dragon, seems to work fine now, phew :) Guess somehow original files got corrupted, erf! hugs cute dragon

I have not tried it yet, but there is a MAT for placing all the default textures on the MIL dragon in freestuff, but it seems your problem is fixed ;)

Thanks for the help folks :) yeah there's a MAT that comes with it that sets them up automatically, just originally nothing was working right. Window's it bound to be Bil Gate's fault somehow! ;)
